Police mentioned they were notified by a individual who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Approximately 50 vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers state they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the form of a swastika, they reported.

Police then found many other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials state initial examinations indicate the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to its origin; officials are presently not informed of any harm in association with the event," they commented.

Local authorities announced they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the community for details.

A high-ranking official said the attack rendered him without words and required to be resolved quickly.

"This event affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the murder of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
